Price for Tobacco; "Homogenised" or "Reconstituted" in Ukraine (CIF) - 2023
The average tobacco; "homogenised" or "reconstituted" import price stood at $7,278 per ton in July 2023, picking up by 97% against the previous month. Overall, the import price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in October 2022 when the average import price increased by 337% m-o-m. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $15,819 per ton. From November 2022 to July 2023, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Indonesia ($17,931 per ton), while the price for Belgium totaled $3,499 per ton.
From August 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the United States (+8.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

The average tobacco; "homogenised" or "reconstituted" export price stood at $16,007 per ton in 2022, dropping by -19.4% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, enjoyed a remarkable increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2015 an increase of 81%. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $25,362 per ton. From 2016 to 2022, the average export prices failed to regain momentum.
As there is only one major export destination, the average price level is determined by prices for Russia.
From 2012 to 2022, the rate of growth in terms of prices for Russia amounted to +7.5% per year.

In 2022, purchases abroad of tobacco; "homogenised" or "reconstituted"s decreased by -66.1% to 966 tons, falling for the second year in a row after two years of growth. Overall, imports saw a dramatic descent. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when imports increased by 7.9%. As a result, imports reached the peak of 3.5K tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, tobacco; "homogenised" or "reconstituted" imports shrank notably to $4.8M in 2022. Over the period under review, imports recorded a dramatic decline. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when imports increased by 14% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $15M. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. As a result, the exports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
