In 2022, the average export price for tobacco; partly or wholly stemmed or stripped amounted to $3,830 per ton, stabilizing at the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 an increase of 9.4%. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $4,366 per ton. From 2015 to 2022, the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($5,788 per ton), while the average price for exports to Kenya ($747 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the Philippines (+9.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average import price for tobacco; partly or wholly stemmed or stripped stood at $4,599 per ton in 2022, reducing by -4.2% against the previous year. Overall, the import price saw a slight decrease. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 an increase of 9.3% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $6,868 per ton in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the Philippines ($5,428 per ton), while the price for India ($2,045 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Indonesia (+5.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, after three years of growth, there was significant decline in overseas shipments of tobacco; partly or wholly stemmed or stripped, when their volume decreased by -5.8% to 23K tons. The total export volume increased at an average annual rate of +3.8% from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations being observed in certain years. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when exports increased by 13%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of 24K tons, and then contracted in the following year.
In value terms, exports of tobacco; partly or wholly stemmed or stripped dropped to $87M in 2022. In general, exports, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when exports increased by 16%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $93M, and then fell in the following year.
