The average export price for tobacco; partly or wholly stemmed or stripped stood at $4,084 per ton in 2022, with an increase of 1.6% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, showed a pronounced descent. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when the average export price increased by 26% against the previous year. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $6,691 per ton. From 2015 to 2022, the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Malaysia ($17,729 per ton), while the average price for exports to Democratic Republic of the Congo ($984 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Malaysia (+10.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.

In 2022, the average import price for tobacco; partly or wholly stemmed or stripped amounted to $1,578 per ton, reducing by -4.3% against the previous year. In general, import price indicated a measured expansion from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +2.9% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, import price for tobacco; partly or wholly stemmed or stripped increased by +2.9% against 2020 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when the average import price increased by 95%. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $2,322 per ton. From 2014 to 2022, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Brazil ($147,200 per ton), while the price for Tanzania ($1,416 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Brazil (+55.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

In 2022, after three years of growth, there was significant decline in overseas shipments of tobacco; partly or wholly stemmed or stripped, when their volume decreased by -31.8% to 7.1K tons. In general, exports, however, continue to indicate a significant expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when exports increased by 206% against the previous year.
In value terms, exports of tobacco; partly or wholly stemmed or stripped dropped significantly to $29M in 2022. Overall, exports, however, saw a significant increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 159% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $42M, and then reduced remarkably in the following year.
