The average tobacco, unmanufactured; tobacco refuse export price stood at $2,923 per ton in July 2023, rising by 51% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in February 2023 an increase of 66% against the previous month. The export price peaked in July 2023.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Greece ($4,300 per ton), while the average price for exports to Russia ($2,299 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Kazakhstan (+8.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Over the period under review, average import prices attained the maximum at $3,972 per ton in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.
