The average import price for tomatoes; prepared or preserved otherwise than by vinegar or acetic acid stood at $1,384 per ton in February 2024, which is down by -5.6% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in March 2023 an increase of 8% month-to-month. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $1,489 per ton in July 2023; however, from August 2023 to February 2024, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Chile ($1,999 per ton), while the price for Portugal ($763 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From February 2023 to February 2024, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Chile (+1.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average export price for tomatoes; prepared or preserved otherwise than by vinegar or acetic acid stood at $1,332 per ton in February 2024, rising by 4.5% against the previous month. Overall, the export price, however, recorded a noticeable descent. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in December 2023 when the average export price increased by 62% month-to-month. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $1,920 per ton. From January 2024 to February 2024, the the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was the United States ($3,841 per ton), while the average price for exports to Paraguay ($843 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From February 2023 to February 2024, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Uruguay (+3.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Imports of Tomatoes; Prepared or Preserved Otherwise than by Vinegar or Acetic Acid in Brazil
