In October 2023, the average import price for tools, hand; other than household toolses amounted to $5,579 per ton, declining by -17.9% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price showed a slight contraction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in February 2023 an increase of 57% month-to-month. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $8,954 per ton. From March 2023 to October 2023, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Taiwan (Chinese) ($13,941 per ton), while the price for the United States ($2,104 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From October 2022 to October 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Taiwan (Chinese) (+1.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

The average export price for tools, hand; other than household toolses stood at $5,658 per ton in 2022, with an increase of 12% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, recorded a pronounced reduction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 an increase of 84%. The export price peaked at $10,402 per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($13,114 per ton), while the average price for exports to Argentina ($354 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Trinidad and Tobago (+16.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
