In 2022, the average import price for trade advertising materials and commercial catalogues amounted to $2,724 per ton, surging by 20% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, recorded a abrupt decrease. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 an increase of 20%. The import price peaked at $5,452 per ton in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the UK ($19,260 per ton), while the price for Brazil ($267 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the Netherlands (+12.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average export price for trade advertising materials and commercial catalogues stood at $5,231 per ton in 2022, growing by 15% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, continues to indicate a deep downturn. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 when the average export price increased by 59% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $11,965 per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the United Arab Emirates ($12,900 per ton), while the average price for exports to Democratic Republic of the Congo ($867 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the United Arab Emirates (+14.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports of Trade Advertising Material and Commercial Catalogue in Uganda

In 2022, after three years of growth, there was significant decline in supplies from abroad of trade advertising materials and commercial catalogues, when their volume decreased by -64.2% to 180 tons. Overall, imports, however, continue to indicate a significant increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 367%. As a result, imports reached the peak of 501 tons, and then shrank significantly in the following year.

In value terms, imports of trade advertising materials and commercial catalogues contracted dramatically to $489K in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate a significant expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 228% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of $1.1M, and then contracted remarkably in the following year.

Over the period under review, exports recorded a sharp descent. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when exports increased by 899% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of 99 tons, and then dropped remarkably in the following year.

In value terms, exports of trade advertising materials and commercial catalogues dropped remarkably to $18K in 2022. In general, exports saw a sharp descent. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by 647% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $449K, and then contracted significantly in the following year.
