In January 2024, the average export price for tubes, pipes and hollow profiles, of cast iron amounted to $4,562 per ton, shrinking by -30.5% against the previous month. Over the period under review, export price indicated slight growth from January 2023 to January 2024: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +1.2% over the last twelve-month period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on January 2024 figures, export price for tubes, pipes and hollow profiles, of cast iron decreased by -39.0% against November 2023 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in March 2023 when the average export price increased by 60% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the peak figure at $7,483 per ton in November 2023; however, from December 2023 to January 2024, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was the United States ($72,141 per ton), while the average price for exports to Bangladesh ($1,022 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From January 2023 to January 2024, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Norway (+35.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
