The average export price for tubing; flexible, with or without fittings, of base metals stood at $9,859 per ton in December 2023, increasing by 7.1% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in July 2023 an increase of 12% m-o-m. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $10,714 per ton. From August 2023 to December 2023, the the average export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In December 2023, the country with the highest price was Germany ($15,585 per ton), while the average price for exports to Romania ($2,785 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From January 2023 to December 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Belgium (+2.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Over the period under review, the import price recorded a strong increase. The import price peaked at $32,052 per ton in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
