Price for Vegetables; Celery (Other than Celeriac), Fresh or Chilled in Australia (FOB) - 2022

The average export price for vegetables; celery (other than celeriac), fresh or chilleds stood at $1,253 per ton in 2022, falling by -7.6% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 an increase of 15% against the previous year. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $1,356 per ton, and then declined in the following year.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Thailand ($3,479 per ton), while the average price for exports to Singapore ($1,099 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Thailand (+12.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

For the third consecutive year, Australia recorded decline in shipments abroad of vegetables; celery (other than celeriac), fresh or chilleds, which decreased by -16.9% to 4K tons in 2022. Over the period under review, exports recorded a abrupt slump. The smallest decline of -5.7% was in 2021.

In value terms, exports of vegetables; celery (other than celeriac), fresh or chilleds reduced markedly to $5M in 2022. In general, exports recorded a drastic downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 8.2% against the previous year.
