The average import price for vegetables; celery (other than celeriac), fresh or chilleds stood at $1,689 per ton in August 2023, almost unchanged from the previous month. Over the last nine months, it increased at an average monthly rate of +3.7%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in February 2023 an increase of 14% month-to-month. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the peak figure at $1,711 per ton in July 2023, and then dropped slightly in the following month.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Germany ($2,352 per ton), while the price for Spain ($1,013 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From November 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Italy (+20.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average export price for vegetables; celery (other than celeriac), fresh or chilleds stood at $1,441 per ton in September 2023, waning by -2.6% against the previous month. Over the last nine months, it increased at an average monthly rate of +2.2%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in June 2023 when the average export price increased by 20% against the previous month. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $1,856 per ton. From July 2023 to September 2023, the the average export prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Serbia ($2,471 per ton), while the average price for exports to Moldova ($1,384 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From December 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Serbia (+19.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
