The average import price for vegetables; olives, provisionally preserved but unsuitable in that state for immediate consumptia stood at $2,130 per ton in 2022, surging by 47% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2019 when the average import price increased by 49% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum at $2,386 per ton in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Italy ($9,326 per ton), while the price for Jordan ($1,268 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Turkey (+20.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average export price for vegetables; olives, provisionally preserved but unsuitable in that state for immediate consumptia stood at $3,401 per ton in 2022, waning by -29.5% against the previous year. Over the period under review, export price indicated a measured expansion from 2015 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +2.7% over the last seven years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 an increase of 42% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $4,824 per ton in 2021, and then contracted notably in the following year.

Average prices varied noticeably for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($3,406 per ton), while the average price for exports to Iraq totaled $3,111 per ton.

From 2015 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Saudi Arabia (+47.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.

After three years of growth, purchases abroad of vegetables; olives, provisionally preserved but unsuitable in that state for immediate consumptia decreased by -81% to 22 tons in 2022. In general, imports, however, saw strong growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 432% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of 118 tons, and then fell remarkably in the following year.

Over the period under review, imports, however, posted a buoyant expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 334%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $172K, and then plummeted in the following year.
