In October 2023, the average export price for vegetables (uncooked or cooked by steaming or boiling in water); frozen amounted to $1,273 per ton, increasing by 2.8% against the previous month. Over the period from October 2022 to October 2023, it increased at an average monthly rate of +2.1%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in April 2023 an increase of 11% m-o-m. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs in October 2023.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In October 2023, the country with the highest price was Japan ($2,272 per ton), while the average price for exports to the UK ($1,113 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From October 2022 to October 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Brazil (+5.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In October 2023, the average import price for vegetables (uncooked or cooked by steaming or boiling in water); frozen amounted to $1,276 per ton, reducing by -5.1% against the previous month. Over the period from October 2022 to October 2023, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.5%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in November 2022 an increase of 11% against the previous month. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum at $1,481 per ton in July 2023; however, from August 2023 to October 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In October 2023, the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($1,781 per ton), while the price for Spain ($1,185 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From October 2022 to October 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the Netherlands (+3.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
