The average import price for vegetables (uncooked or cooked by steaming or boiling in water); frozen stood at $1,304 per ton in November 2023, surging by 2.5% against the previous month. In general, the import price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in January 2023 an increase of 13% against the previous month. The import price peaked in November 2023.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was the Czech Republic ($1,701 per ton), while the price for Moldova ($1,011 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From November 2022 to November 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the Czech Republic (+5.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In November 2023, the average export price for vegetables (uncooked or cooked by steaming or boiling in water); frozen amounted to $1,584 per ton, picking up by 21% against the previous month. Overall, export price indicated a mild expansion from November 2022 to November 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +1.8% over the last twelve months. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on November 2023 figures, export price for vegetables (uncooked or cooked by steaming or boiling in water); frozen decreased by -19.6% against September 2023 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in May 2023 an increase of 65% m-o-m. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $2,503 per ton. From June 2023 to November 2023, the the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Italy ($5,331 per ton), while the average price for exports to Belgium ($696 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From November 2022 to November 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Turkey (+14.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 22% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of 13K tons, and then declined significantly in the following year.
In value terms, imports of vegetables (uncooked or cooked by steaming or boiling in water); frozen reduced rapidly to $12M in 2022. Over the period under review, total imports indicated a buoyant expansion from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +12.0% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +40.6% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 32% against the previous year.
