In December 2022, the average export price for vegetables (uncooked or cooked by steaming or boiling in water); frozen amounted to $1,263 per ton, reducing by -1.6% against the previous month. In general, the export price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in January 2022 an increase of 1.6% m-o-m. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $1,299 per ton in July 2022; afterwards, it flattened through to December 2022.

Average prices varied noticeably for the major foreign markets. In December 2022, the highest price was recorded for prices to France ($1,352 per ton) and Germany ($1,350 per ton), while the average price for exports to Taiwan (Chinese) ($1,149 per ton) and Canada ($1,194 per ton) were amongst the lowest.

From December 2021 to December 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Germany (+0.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average import price for vegetables (uncooked or cooked by steaming or boiling in water); frozen stood at $1,382 per ton in December 2022, falling by -2.9% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in January 2022 an increase of 17% m-o-m. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum at $1,532 per ton in February 2022; however, from March 2022 to December 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.

Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In December 2022, the highest price was recorded for prices from Taiwan (Chinese) ($1,848 per ton) and Thailand ($1,848 per ton), while the price for the United States ($1,295 per ton) and China ($1,336 per ton) were amongst the lowest.

From December 2021 to December 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (+0.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, exports of vegetables (uncooked or cooked by steaming or boiling in water); frozen from Vietnam expanded markedly to 40K tons, with an increase of 5.2% on the year before. The total export volume increased at an average annual rate of +4.4% from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained consistent, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when exports increased by 9.3% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports of reached the maximum in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.
