The average import price for vermiculite, perlite and chlorites; unexpandeds stood at $236 per ton in July 2023, reducing by -23.2% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price recorded a perceptible curtailment. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in April 2023 an increase of 39% against the previous month. The import price peaked at $381 per ton in December 2022; however, from January 2023 to July 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was South Africa ($527 per ton), while the price for Turkey ($107 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Greece (+14.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
