In 2022, the average import price for wadding; other articles thereof, of man-made fibreses amounted to $4,916 per ton, with a decrease of -21.3% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, recorded a pronounced increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 an increase of 111%. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $11,987 per ton in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($29,753 per ton), while the price for India ($1,203 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Lebanon (+13.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

After two years of decline, purchases abroad of wadding; other articles thereof, of man-made fibreses decreased by -4.4% to 32 tons in 2022. In general, imports, however, enjoyed a significant increase.

In value terms, imports of wadding; other articles thereof, of man-made fibreses declined significantly to $158K in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate significant growth.
