Price for Waste, Parings and Scrap, of Plastics in Hungary (FOB) - 2023
The average export price for waste, parings and scrap, of plasticses stood at $112 per ton in October 2023, waning by -72.6% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price saw a abrupt decrease. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in September 2023 when the average export price increased by 39% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the maximum at $427 per ton in April 2023; however, from May 2023 to October 2023, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Average prices varied noticeably for the major export markets. In October 2023, the country with the highest price was Turkey ($113 per ton), while the average price for exports to Ukraine stood at $108 per ton.
From October 2022 to October 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Croatia (+29.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average import price for waste, parings and scrap, of plasticses amounted to $516 per ton, growing by 20% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price posted notable growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 when the average import price increased by 60% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum at $952 per ton in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
