In 2022, the average import price for waste, parings and scrap, of plasticses amounted to $789 per ton, rising by 9.4% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2022, it increased at an average annual rate of +2.5%. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 an increase of 40%. The import price peaked in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in the near future.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Honduras ($1,479 per ton), while the price for Canada ($549 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
