Price for White Sugar (Containing >= 99,5% Sucrose) and Chemically Pure Sucrose in Ukraine (FOB) - 2023
In November 2023, the average export price for white sugar (containing >= 99,5% sucrose) and chemically pure sucrose amounted to $719 per ton, remaining constant against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in July 2023 an increase of 47% month-to-month. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $1,133 per ton. From August 2023 to November 2023, the the average export prices remained at a lower figure.
Average prices varied somewhat for the major export markets. In November 2023, the countries with the highest prices were Germany ($779 per ton) and Hungary ($773 per ton), while the average price for exports to Cameroon ($588 per ton) and Greece ($669 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From November 2022 to November 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Poland (+0.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average import price for white sugar (containing >= 99,5% sucrose) and chemically pure sucrose amounted to $694 per ton, picking up by 28% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, recorded a noticeable shrinkage. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the peak figure at $1,296 per ton in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Lithuania ($732 per ton), while the price for France totaled $660 per ton.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Belarus (+9.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

After two years of decline, overseas shipments of white sugar (containing >= 99,5% sucrose) and chemically pure sucrose increased by 335% to 180K tons in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, showed a abrupt downturn.
In value terms, exports of white sugar (containing >= 99,5% sucrose) and chemically pure sucrose skyrocketed to $138M in 2022. In general, exports saw buoyant growth. As a result, the exports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
