Price for Winding Wire of Copper in Greece (FOB) - 2023

The average winding wire of copper export price stood at $10,043 per ton in June 2023, rising by 67% against the previous month. In general, the export price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the maximum at $11,925 per ton in February 2023; however, from March 2023 to June 2023, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In June 2023, the country with the highest price was Germany ($11,684 per ton), while the average price for exports to Slovenia ($3,881 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Germany (+5.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In June 2023, the average winding wire of copper import price amounted to $1,517 per ton, dropping by -87.8% against the previous month. Overall, the import price faced a abrupt contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in December 2022 when the average import price increased by 237% m-o-m. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure at $31,591 per ton in April 2023; however, from May 2023 to June 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.

As there is only one major supplying country, the average price level is determined by prices for Italy.

From June 2022 to June 2023, the rate of growth in terms of prices for Serbia amounted to +5.4% per month.

The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +49.6% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 84% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $48M, and then dropped remarkably in the following year.
