In June 2023, the average winding wire of copper import price amounted to $12,445 per ton, with a decrease of -2.4% against the previous month. In general, the import price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in November 2022 when the average import price increased by 176% against the previous month. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $12,753 per ton in May 2023, and then contracted in the following month.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Italy ($14,979 per ton), while the price for Greece ($8,291 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Spain (+3.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
