The average export price for winding wire, other than of coppers stood at $3,932 per ton in February 2024, shrinking by -2.5% against the previous month. In general, the export price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in March 2023 an increase of 14% month-to-month. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $4,933 per ton. From April 2023 to February 2024, the the average export prices failed to regain momentum.
Average prices varied somewhat for the major external markets. In February 2024, the countries with the highest prices were Vietnam ($5,005 per ton) and the United States ($4,951 per ton), while the average price for exports to South Korea ($3,473 per ton) and Kenya ($3,480 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From February 2023 to February 2024, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Thailand (-0.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.
