In January 2024, the average import price for winding wire, other than of coppers amounted to $6,282 per ton, with a decrease of -14.2% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in December 2023 an increase of 18% against the previous month. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $7,320 per ton, and then shrank in the following month.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was China ($35,185 per ton), while the price for the UK ($8,949 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From January 2023 to January 2024, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by South Korea (+13.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Over the period under review, the export price, however, enjoyed buoyant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 an increase of 341% against the previous year. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $72,441 per ton, and then shrank significantly in the following year.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Slovakia ($96,284 per ton), while the average price for exports to Austria ($6,178 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Slovakia (+11.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
