Price for Wine of Fresh Grapes in Sweden (CIF) - 2023
The average wine of fresh grapes import price stood at $4.2 per litre in June 2023, remaining constant against the previous month. Over the period from June 2022 to June 2023, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.5%. The growth pace was the most rapid in October 2022 when the average import price increased by 30% month-to-month. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $4.5 per litre in March 2023; however, from April 2023 to June 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In June 2023, the country with the highest price was the United States ($6.0 per litre), while the price for Chile ($2.1 per litre) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Argentina (+6.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average wine of fresh grapes export price stood at $3.4 per litre in June 2023, remaining relatively unchanged against the previous month. Over the period from June 2022 to June 2023, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.9%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in September 2022 an increase of 26% m-o-m. The export price peaked at $3.4 per litre in May 2023, and then shrank modestly in the following month.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Denmark ($5.2 per litre), while the average price for exports to France ($615 per thousand litres) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Denmark (+4.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Imports of Wine of Fresh Grapes in Sweden
In 2022, supplies from abroad of wine of fresh grapes (except sparkling wine) decreased by -1.5% to 175M litres, falling for the second consecutive year after two years of growth. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +4.5% from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained consistent, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations in certain years.
