In November 2023, the average export price for wine; still, in containers holding 2 litres or lesses amounted to $2.6 per litre, with an increase of 11% against the previous month. Over the period from November 2022 to November 2023, it increased at an average monthly rate of +2.0%. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in June 2023 an increase of 20% against the previous month. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $2.9 per litre. From July 2023 to November 2023, the the average export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In November 2023, the country with the highest price was Japan ($5.7 per litre), while the average price for exports to the Czech Republic ($1.9 per litre) was amongst the lowest.
From November 2022 to November 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Japan (+4.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In November 2023, the average import price for wine; still, in containers holding 2 litres or lesses amounted to $4.5 per litre, jumping by 22% against the previous month. Over the last twelve-month period, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.8%. The growth pace was the most rapid in September 2023 when the average import price increased by 26% against the previous month. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $4.7 per litre. From October 2023 to November 2023, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In November 2023, the country with the highest price was New Zealand ($5.6 per litre), while the price for Hungary ($932 per thousand litres) was amongst the lowest.
From November 2022 to November 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Spain (+4.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Exports of Wine; Still, in Containers Holding 2 Litres or Less in Bulgaria
For the third year in a row, Bulgaria recorded decline in overseas shipments of wine; still, in containers holding 2 litres or lesses, which decreased by -19.4% to 10M litres in 2022. In general, exports saw a deep setback. The smallest decline of -6% was in 2021. The exports peaked at 15M litres in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, exports of wine; still, in containers holding 2 litres or lesses reduced sharply to $21M in 2022. Overall, exports recorded a deep slump. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by 2.8%. The exports peaked at $29M in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
