The average import price for wine; still, in containers holding more than 2 litreses stood at $1.4 per litre in December 2023, falling by -2.6% against the previous month. Over the period from December 2022 to December 2023, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.3%. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in March 2023 when the average import price increased by 29% m-o-m. The import price peaked at $1.6 per litre in July 2023; however, from August 2023 to December 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In December 2023, the country with the highest price was France ($2.2 per litre), while the price for Moldova ($988 per thousand litres) was amongst the lowest.
From December 2022 to December 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by France (+2.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average export price for wine; still, in containers holding more than 2 litreses amounted to $0.5 per litre, growing by 4.1% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, showed a noticeable setback. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when the average export price increased by 31%. The export price peaked at $0.7 per litre in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Average prices varied somewhat for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Moldova ($0.5 per litre), while the average price for exports to Romania ($0.4 per litre) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Moldova (+5.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.
