In 2022, the average export price for wood amounted to $159 per cubic meter, surging by 96% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, faced a deep contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when the average export price increased by 104% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the peak figure at $915 per cubic meter in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Maldives ($517 per cubic meter), while the average price for exports to New Zealand totaled $37 per cubic meter.
From 2017 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to China (+79.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.

The average import price for wood stood at $61 per cubic meter in 2022, jumping by 17% against the previous year. In general, import price indicated a tangible expansion from 2017 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +3.3% over the last five years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, import price for wood decreased by -30.0% against 2018 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when the average import price increased by 68%. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $87 per cubic meter. From 2019 to 2022, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was France ($102 per cubic meter), while the price for Germany ($35 per cubic meter) was amongst the lowest.
From 2017 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (+55.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

In 2022, after three years of growth, there was significant decline in shipments abroad of wood, when their volume decreased by -58% to 21K cubic meters. In value terms, exports of wood declined significantly to $3.3M in 2022. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +27.0% against 2020 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 54%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $4.1M, and then declined notably in the following year.
