In 2022, the average import price for wood amounted to $168 per cubic meter, rising by 20% against the previous year. Overall, the import price enjoyed a remarkable increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when the average import price increased by 149%. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $203 per cubic meter. From 2020 to 2022, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Italy ($234 per cubic meter), while the price for the Netherlands amounted to $122 per cubic meter.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the Netherlands (+12.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
