In December 2021, the average import price for wood amounted to $10.9 per cubic meter, waning by -28.5% against the previous month. Overall, the import price, however, saw modest growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in November 2021 an increase of 110% m-o-m. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $16.2 per cubic meter in August 2021; however, from September 2021 to December 2021, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In December 2021, the country with the highest price was the United States ($35.9 per cubic meter), while the price for Switzerland ($2.5 per cubic meter) was amongst the lowest.
From January 2021 to December 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Belgium (+13.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
