In 2022, the average import price for wood amounted to $15 per cubic meter, falling by -2.1% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, posted a tangible increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 an increase of 89%. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $21 per cubic meter. From 2021 to 2022, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($59 per cubic meter), while the price for Switzerland ($2 per cubic meter) was amongst the lowest.
From 2017 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Croatia (+10.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
