The average import price for wood stood at $13.3 per cubic meter in December 2021, rising by 8.1% against the previous month. Overall, import price indicated a resilient expansion from January 2021 to December 2021: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +6.1% over the last eleven months. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on December 2021 figures, import price for wood increased by +57.8% against June 2021 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in July 2021 an increase of 22% m-o-m. The import price peaked in December 2021.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Belgium ($20.0 per cubic meter), while the price for France ($3.8 per cubic meter) was amongst the lowest.
From January 2021 to December 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany (+6.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

The average export price for wood stood at $9.7 per cubic meter in December 2021, picking up by 4.4% against the previous month. Overall, export price indicated a tangible increase from January 2021 to December 2021: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +3.7% over the last eleven-month period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on December 2021 figures, export price for wood decreased by -6.2% against October 2021 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in October 2021 when the average export price increased by 41% against the previous month. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $10.3 per cubic meter. From November 2021 to December 2021, the the average export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In December 2021, the country with the highest price was France ($25.0 per cubic meter), while the average price for exports to the Netherlands ($8.1 per cubic meter) was amongst the lowest.
From January 2021 to December 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Germany (+7.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 22% against the previous year. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +4.4% from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when imports increased by 39%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $8M, and then contracted in the following year.
