In 2022, the average export price for wood amounted to $42 per cubic meter, surging by 13% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, showed a deep contraction. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when the average export price increased by 88%. The export price peaked at $59 per cubic meter in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Singapore ($253 per cubic meter), while the average price for exports to Thailand ($19 per cubic meter) was amongst the lowest.
From 2017 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to South Korea (+34.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.

The average import price for wood stood at $94 per cubic meter in 2022, declining by -23.9% against the previous year. Overall, the import price continues to indicate a sharp contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when the average import price increased by 137%. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum at $611 per cubic meter in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Australia ($463 per cubic meter), while the price for Vietnam ($7.2 per cubic meter) was amongst the lowest.
From 2017 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (+36.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.
