In general, import price indicated a buoyant increase from 2018 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +10.7% over the last four years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, import price for wood increased by +50.1% against 2018 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when the average import price increased by 30%. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $51 per cubic meter in 2021, and then fell in the following year.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Argentina ($3,444 per cubic meter), while the average price for exports to Barbados ($252 per cubic meter) was amongst the lowest.
From 2018 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to France (+277.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, exports of wood contracted to $9M in 2022. Overall, exports, however, showed a deep reduction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 21%. Over the period under review, the exports of attained the peak figure at $12M in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.
