In November 2021, the average wood; posts and beams import price amounted to $877 per ton, surging by 34% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price recorded a prominent increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in June 2021 when the average import price increased by 119% against the previous month. The import price peaked at $1,061 per ton in August 2021; however, from September 2021 to November 2021, import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In November 2021, the country with the highest price was Austria ($1,563 per ton), while the price for Romania ($373 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From November 2020 to November 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Slovakia (+10.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average wood; posts and beams export price amounted to $386 per ton, shrinking by -10.7% against the previous year. Overall, the export price recorded a deep reduction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when the average export price increased by 43% against the previous year. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $910 per ton. From 2020 to 2022, the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Serbia ($546 per ton), while the average price for exports to Slovakia ($349 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Denmark (+41.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
