In September 2023, the average import price for wool; (not carded or combed), degreased, (not carbonised), (other than shorn) amounted to $17,252 per ton, with an increase of 169% against the previous month. In general, the import price continues to indicate a remarkable increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in March 2023 when the average import price increased by 230% month-to-month. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $19,806 per ton. From April 2023 to September 2023, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.
As there is only one major supplying country, the average price level is determined by prices for the UK.
From November 2022 to September 2023, the rate of growth in terms of prices for Egypt amounted to +4.9% per month.
