The average export price for wool; (not carded or combed), degreased, (not carbonised), shorn stood at $2,390 per ton in November 2023, declining by -7.9% against the previous month. In general, the export price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in October 2023 when the average export price increased by 7.4% m-o-m. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the maximum at $2,839 per ton in February 2023; however, from March 2023 to November 2023, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In November 2023, the country with the highest price was Germany ($3,504 per ton), while the average price for exports to Belgium ($1,769 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From December 2022 to November 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Germany (+3.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In general, the import price continues to indicate a pronounced reduction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in April 2023 an increase of 16% m-o-m. The import price peaked at $2,514 per ton in December 2022; however, from January 2023 to November 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Australia ($6,559 per ton), while the price for Pakistan ($718 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From December 2022 to November 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Turkey (+2.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
