The average import price for yarn; of jute or of other textile bast fibres, singles stood at $1,609 per ton in 2022, which is down by -3.4% against the previous year. In general, import price indicated resilient growth from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +5.0% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $1,277 per ton in December 2022; however, from January 2023 to December 2023, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Russia ($1,300 per ton), while the average price for exports to Uzbekistan ($833 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From December 2022 to December 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Russia (+0.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

From 2021 to 2022, the growth of the exports of remained at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, exports of yarn; of jute or of other textile bast fibres, singles contracted sharply to $11M in 2022. In general, total exports indicated buoyant growth from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +13.3% over the last three years.
