In 2022, the average import price for yarn; of jute or of other textile bast fibres, singles amounted to $925 per ton, growing by 1.8% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 an increase of 13%. The import price peaked at $1,055 per ton in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was India ($1,772 per ton), while the price for Kenya ($115 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
