Price for Yoghurt and Fermented Milk in Kuwait (CIF) - 2021
In December 2021, the average yoghurt and fermented milk import price amounted to $2,037 per ton, surging by 8.6% against the previous month. Over the last eleven-month period, it increased at an average monthly rate of +2.9%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in July 2021 when the average import price increased by 21% m-o-m. The import price peaked at $2,069 per ton in September 2021; however, from October 2021 to December 2021, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Turkey ($3,862 per ton), while the price for Iran ($452 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From January 2021 to December 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Turkey (+9.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
Price for Yoghurt and Fermented Milk in Kuwait (FOB) - 2021
In December 2021, the average yoghurt and fermented milk export price amounted to $924 per ton, reducing by -11.4% against the previous month. In general, the export price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in July 2021 when the average export price increased by 39% m-o-m. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the peak figure at $1,596 per ton in August 2021; however, from September 2021 to December 2021, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Qatar ($1,279 per ton), while the average price for exports to Saudi Arabia ($677 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From January 2021 to December 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Jordan (+6.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.
Imports of Yoghurt and Fermented Milk in Kuwait
In 2022, after two years of decline, there was growth in purchases abroad of yoghurt and fermented milk, when their volume increased by 3.8% to 47K tons. In general, imports, however, showed a abrupt descent.
In value terms, yoghurt and fermented milk imports reduced modestly to $74M in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, saw a perceptible decrease. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 5.2% against the previous year.

The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by 69%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of 22K tons, and then reduced sharply in the following year.
In value terms, yoghurt and fermented milk exports dropped dramatically to $19M in 2022. In general, total exports indicated strong growth from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +5.0% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +35.4% against 2020 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by 71% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $23M, and then declined sharply in the following year.
