Price for Yoghurt and Fermented Milk in Thailand (FOB) - 2022
In 2022, the average yoghurt and fermented milk export price amounted to $992 per ton, which is down by -9% against the previous year. Overall, the export price continues to indicate a slight curtailment. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2019 an increase of 34%. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $1,441 per ton. From 2020 to 2022, the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Hong Kong SAR ($2,315 per ton), while the average price for exports to the Philippines ($861 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Singapore (+5.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.

The average yoghurt and fermented milk import price stood at $3,112 per ton in July 2023, waning by -3.9% against the previous month. Overall, the import price showed a noticeable contraction. The growth pace was the most rapid in August 2022 an increase of 13% against the previous month. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $4,879 per ton. From September 2022 to July 2023, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In July 2023, the country with the highest price was France ($6,989 per ton), while the price for Belgium ($2,694 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by France (+6.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
Exports of Yoghurt and Fermented Milk in Thailand
In 2022, yoghurt and fermented milk exports from Thailand soared to 127K tons, growing by 27% against 2021 figures. The total export volume increased at an average annual rate of +10.8% over the period from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. As a result, the exports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, yoghurt and fermented milk exports surged to $126M in 2022. In general, exports, however, recorded a pronounced reduction.
