The average import price for zinc; bars, rods, profiles and wires stood at $4,770 per ton in 2022, surging by 20% against the previous year. Over the period under review, import price indicated moderate growth from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +3.8% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, import price for zinc; bars, rods, profiles and wires increased by +47.1% against 2020 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 an increase of 31%. The import price peaked in 2022 and is likely to continue growth in the near future.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Belgium ($5,658 per ton), while the price for Italy ($3,443 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by India (+4.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, imports of zinc; bars, rods, profiles and wires shrank to $376K in 2022. In general, imports continue to indicate a abrupt setback. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 0.6% against the previous year.
