Price for Zinc; Dust, Powders and Flakes in South Korea (FOB) - 2022

In 2021, the average export price for zinc; dust, powders and flakeses amounted to $2,448 per ton, picking up by 31% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, showed a mild downturn. The export price peaked at $2,771 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Average prices varied somewhat for the major overseas markets. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the countries with the highest prices were Japan ($2,008 per ton) and Australia ($1,876 per ton), while the average price for exports to Morocco ($1,576 per ton) and Vietnam ($1,609 per ton) were amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to China (+6.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

The average import price for zinc; dust, powders and flakeses stood at $2,794 per ton in 2021, with an increase of 27% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2021, it increased at an average annual rate of +2.0%. As a result, import price reached the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($4,138 per ton), while the price for Saudi Arabia ($798 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the Philippines (+14.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
