The average import price for zinc; unwrought, (not alloyed), containing by weight 99.99% or more of zincs stood at $1,326 per ton in 2022, waning by -6.3% against the previous year. In general, the import price saw a pronounced descent. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 when the average import price increased by 5.9%. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $2,155 per ton. From 2015 to 2022, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($1,526 per ton), while the price for Belgium ($73 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the Netherlands (-1.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 17% against the previous year. Imports peaked in 2022 and are likely to see steady growth in years to come.

The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +9.2% over the period from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern remained consistent, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations being observed in certain years. Over the period under review, imports of attained the maximum in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.
