In February 2024, the average export price for zinc; unwrought, (not alloyed), containing by weight 99.99% or more of zincs amounted to $2,329 per ton, waning by -9% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price showed a mild shrinkage. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in January 2024 when the average export price increased by 6.1% m-o-m. The export price peaked at $2,948 per ton in February 2023; however, from March 2023 to February 2024, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Average prices varied noticeably for the major overseas markets. In February 2024, the highest price was recorded for prices to Russia ($2,639 per ton) and China ($2,300 per ton), while the average price for exports to Vietnam ($2,234 per ton) and Turkey ($2,289 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From February 2023 to February 2024, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Vietnam (-1.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

In 2022, the average import price for zinc; unwrought, (not alloyed), containing by weight 99.99% or more of zincs amounted to $3,895 per ton, rising by 31% against the previous year. In general, import price indicated strong growth from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +5.7% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, import price for zinc; unwrought, (not alloyed), containing by weight 99.99% or more of zincs increased by +40.3% against 2020 indices. As a result, import price reached the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was China ($4,787 per ton), while the price for Russia totaled $3,808 per ton.
