The average import price for zinc; unwrought, (not alloyed), containing by weight 99.99% or more of zincs stood at $2,880 per ton in February 2024, with a decrease of -3.1% against the previous month. Overall, the import price recorded a perceptible decrease. The growth pace was the most rapid in October 2023 an increase of 2% month-to-month. The import price peaked at $3,762 per ton in February 2023; however, from March 2023 to February 2024, import prices failed to regain momentum.

Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In February 2024, the highest price was recorded for prices from Austria ($3,225 per ton) and Germany ($3,128 per ton), while the price for Sweden ($2,713 per ton) and Belgium ($2,740 per ton) were amongst the lowest.

From February 2023 to February 2024, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Austria (-1.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. As a result, the export price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Average prices varied somewhat for the major external markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the countries with the highest prices were Hungary ($4,397 per ton) and Slovakia ($4,205 per ton), while the average price for exports to Austria ($3,381 per ton) and Poland ($3,471 per ton) were amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Bulgaria (+15.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
