In July 2023, the average zinc; waste and scrap export price amounted to $2,024 per ton, reducing by -4.2% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price saw a mild downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in January 2023 when the average export price increased by 3% month-to-month. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the maximum at $2,356 per ton in August 2022; however, from September 2022 to July 2023, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Average prices varied noticeably for the major overseas markets. In July 2023, the highest price was recorded for prices to India ($2,081 per ton) and Belgium ($2,036 per ton), while the average price for exports to France ($1,668 per ton) and Germany ($1,962 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Thailand (+11.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.

In July 2023, the average zinc; waste and scrap import price amounted to $1,650 per ton, growing by 14% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price, however, recorded a slight setback. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum at $1,982 per ton in May 2023; however, from June 2023 to July 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Poland ($2,130 per ton), while the price for Iceland ($670 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Italy (+1.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
Exports of Zinc; Waste and Scrap in the Netherlands
In 2022, approx. 33K tons of zinc; waste and scraps were exported from the Netherlands; surging by 11% compared with the year before. In general, exports continue to indicate a significant expansion.
