Price for Zirconium Ore and Concentrate in Sri Lanka (FOB) - 2022
The average zirconium ore and concentrate export price stood at $332 per ton in 2022, with a decrease of -58.4% against the previous year. In general, the export price showed a abrupt curtailment. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 an increase of 69%. The export price peaked at $1,313 per ton in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Italy ($933 per ton), while the average price for exports to China ($192 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the United Arab Emirates (+5.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.
