In December 2021, the average zirconium; waste and scrap import price amounted to $16,469 per ton, waning by -11.1% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price recorded a mild decrease. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in August 2021 an increase of 139% m-o-m. The import price peaked at $41,214 per ton in January 2021; however, from February 2021 to December 2021, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was the UK ($31,464 per ton), while the price for South Korea ($14,415 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From December 2020 to December 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the Netherlands (0.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

The average zirconium; waste and scrap export price stood at $10,298 per ton in 2022, with a decrease of -13% against the previous year. Overall, export price indicated a slight expansion from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +1.1% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, zirconium; waste and scrap export price decreased by +0.6% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 an increase of 39%. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $17,621 per ton in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
