Citrus Fruits Not Elsewhere Classified Production in Iran - 2022

After two years of growth, production of citrus fruits not elsewhere classified decreased by -1.2% to 633K tons in 2022. Overall, production, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 2.4% against the previous year. As a result, production reached the peak volume of 640K tons, and then declined slightly in the following year. Citrus fruits not elsewhere classified output in Iran indicated a relatively flat trend pattern, which was largely conditioned by a relatively flat trend pattern of the harvested area and a relatively flat trend pattern in yield figures.

In value terms, citrus fruits not elsewhere classified production dropped sharply to $840M in 2022 estimated in export price. Over the period under review, production, however, showed a resilient increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when the production volume increased by 48% against the previous year. As a result, production reached the peak level of $1B, and then contracted markedly in the following year.

In 2022, approx. 24K ha of citrus fruits not elsewhere classified were harvested in Iran; flattening at the year before. Overall, the harvested area continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when the harvested area increased by 0.9% against the previous year. The citrus fruits not elsewhere classified harvested area peaked at 25K ha in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, the harvested area remained at a lower figure.

Citrus Fruits Not Elsewhere Classified Yield in Iran - 2022

In 2022, the average yield of citrus fruits not elsewhere classified in Iran dropped to 26 tons per ha, leveling off at the previous year. Overall, the yield, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when the yield increased by 2.2% against the previous year. As a result, the yield reached the peak level of 26 tons per ha, and then contracted slightly in the following year.
